Central Square NY is a village of 1,732 people located in Oswego County, Upstate NY. It is part of the town of Hastings NY. The village was incorporated in 1890. In 1929 a devastating fire wiped out the central part of the village.

It was first called Loomis Corners, named after a Chester Loomis who owned a hotel there. It became a railroad junction and is currently a crossroads for I-81. So for hundreds of years it has been the crossroads for many people.
